Folksy Listings and Some New Stash

I've been working away at listing some new items on my Folksy shop this weekend.  I still have more to list but I'd been asked to put a few things on by my next door neighbour, whose daughter in law had one of my bags and has been asked by all her friends in Cambridge where she got it from - nothing ventured and all that...

This was the bag she had, I liked doing the applique on

it and am planning a couple more applique designs on some nice strong canvas I just bought.

I'm doing a giveaway on my other blog but don't seem to have attracted many takers - go an have a wee look and see if you're interested...

As I sit here blogging, I'm listening to 'Round the Horne' as I copy it from a cassette to my PC for Hubby.  Unfortunately we no longer have the technology for playing cassettes, except for one side of the old hi fi which still works - and I don't want to lose all the comedy radio shows we have.  I've already done two hours of Dad's Army, Two hours of Hancock and two hours of John Shuttleworth - I'm all comedied out now really!  Hopefully I'll be able to educate Hubby in the art of using an MP3 player so he can listen to them all again.  I've used this great little free program called Audacity which you can download really fast.

I just paid a visit to the Fabric Guild for some new stash.  I don't go very often but find its well worth buying up a job lot when I'm there.  I'll be posting about that later.

SOME NEW BAGS, FINALLY

I'm struggling to get bags made at the moment.  I know I need to make some more as I have very few left, however, actually getting around to making any seems to be quite impossible - I just don't feel like it!  I'm hoping my enthusiasm will return soon because I'm doing a craft fair in March and will look very silly with nothing to sell...

Here are a couple I have managed to make.

This is a crazy patchwork bag in velvet with lots of embroidery and beads, lined with purple satin.

I've used this fabric before but this time I've added some wooden rings and made the bag a different shape, it has a cross body handle.  Unfortunately I managed to get the up the wrong way, sorry about that!

I would welcome a little encouragement to help me get started on the bag making again friends!

I'M STILL AROUND, HONEST!

I know there's been no news on here for a while, mainly because I've been pretty busy at work and have had very little time for crafting, as such.  However, I am keeping busy helping to organise a big charity craft fair at my church, The Riverside Centre in Pride Park, which will take place on Saturday 14 May 2011.  We are hoping to raise funds for two organisations the church supports, Celebrate Recovery and a charity which helps vulnerable and at risk women in Sri Lanka.  Hope you don't mind the little advert!

So now I need to really get my finger out and actually DO some crafting, otherwise I'll have nothing to sell!  With this in mind, I'm heading off to the Fabric Guild annual sale tomorrow to stock up on some new stash with the hope of getting a quilt finished by the time May comes round.  Not sure whether I'll actually manage it, but I'm going to have a jolly good go at it!

Happy crafting!
